I had the same site evaluator for this rotation as I did for my last 2 sites so I more or less knew what to expect this time around. While it was definitely very convenient for my site evaluator to work in the hospital I am rotating in, and I have really appreciated the suggestions he has given. I do wish that I had some variation in evaluator as in practice I will have to adapt to many different styles. In the months that I have worked with this particular evaluator I have been able to make my pharm cards concise yet thorough – to make sure I hit all of the relevant points while not writing out 15 adverse effects that I won’t be able to remember.
I also feel that while by no means perfect, my assessment and plan have definitely gotten better. At first when my evaluator told me to cut out everything that wasn’t necessary I had a very hard time doing so – everything seemed important! Now, I am trying to limit my assessment to only the most pertinent information. I am very grateful for the guidance I have received and am ready to get another evaluator’s perspective on how to continue to improve.
