As I have moved through my rotations I have become more and more comfortable with site evaluations. I find that I am more confident in my pharm cards – a task that seemed tedious at first but I now feel augments what I am learning and applying in my rotation. For example, in this rotation I chose do most of my pharm cards on diabetes medications as that is where I noticed I was struggling the most in my rotation. The evaluation itself was more collegiate than any of the others I have had, which I also felt is appropriate given that in a few short months I will also be a practicing PA. My evaluator took additional time to speak to everyone in our group about what area of medicine we wanted to practice in and to offer some practical advice about job searches and things to consider when we interview. The case presentations and journal article were similar to what I have come to expect but I definitely appreciate the additional time take by our evaluator to offer advice on navigating job offers – something we will all hopefully have to consider soon.
